安瑞希實習的心得 02: 了解台灣動物保護的重要性

我今天有機會參加一場關於動物保護的會議。由於我對這個議題有深刻的關注，因此毫不猶豫地參加了。我是與何宗勳秘書長一同出席的，除了他所屬的動物保護協會之外，還有另外四個動保團體也參與了這次會議。

在會議中，大家針對公民對待動物的行為所面臨的各種挑戰進行了深入的討論。在台灣，動物常遭受各種傷害，例如:一邊被長期拋棄在戶一邊外被鎖鏈綁住脖子；在收容所被施以安樂死；或受到飼主虐待等等。這些問題讓我聯想到美國目前也面臨的類似情況，因此我很快就能理解與認同他們的觀點。動物不應該只是人類的財產，它們是我們的朋友，甚至野生動物也應被如此看待。如果我們真的想與動物建立友誼，就應該幫助每一個需要幫助的生命。

在會議中，我深刻感受到與會者對這些議題的熱情與投入。即使他們來自不同的協會，仍希望彼此合作，這樣的團結讓我感受到他們如同一個強大的整體。合作的力量能讓他們完成更多重要的目標。

這次的經驗讓我對即將開始的暑期實習感到非常興奮，因為我覺得自己參與的是一項非常有意義的行動。我真的很想為TCPA盡一份心力！

Understanding the Importance of Animal Protection in Taiwan

I had the opportunity to attend a conference today on animal protection. Since I have a deep interest in this topic, I did not hesitate to participate. I attended the meeting with Mr. He, and in addition to the animal protection association to which he belongs, four other animal protection groups also participated.

During the meeting, there was an in-depth discussion on the challenges faced by animals in their treatment from citizens. In Taiwan, animals often suffer a variety of harm such as: being abandoned outdoors for long periods of time while being chained around their necks, euthanized in shelters, or abused by their owners. These questions reminded me of a similar problems that the United States is currently facing, so I immediately understood and agreed with them. Animals are not just human property, they are our friends, and even wild animals should be treated as such. If we really want to build a friendship with animals, we should help every life in need.

During the meeting, I was deeply impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of the participants to these topics. Even though they come from different associations, they still want to work together, and this unity makes it seem like they are one big organization. This power of collaboration allows them to accomplish more important goals.

The experience I had today made me very excited about the upcoming summer internship because I felt that I was involved in a very meaningful action. I really want to do my part for TCPA!
